How to Choose the Right Attorney
We like to say that attorneys are like a pair of shoes—you have to find the right fit, otherwise they can make an already difficult journey even more uncomfortable. Family law presents some tough situations, and you do not want to make them more strenuous by partnering with an attorney who is not experienced and articulate in the courtroom. And when it comes to estate planning, you want a knowledgeable attorney who will go to bat for you in the courtroom.
Before you hire an attorney, we recommend you take the time to research him or her, ask questions, and do a thorough consultation to determine if the person is a good fit for your needs. In addition to his or her knowledge, it is important that your attorney has ample resources to leverage. We have multiple trusted professionals, such as appraisers, CPAs and forensic accountants that we partner with to support our clients’ needs. Your attorney is also someone you will communicate with daily, so beyond his or her tangible prowess as a professional, he or she should be someone you have good chemistry with, someone with whom you feel completely comfortable.
We believe getting to know your attorney before you hire him or her is an incredibly important part of the process that allows you to move forward with confidence and peace of mind. For that reason, we insist on doing in-depth consultations with every new client prior to being retained.
